Well, it looks like the Game Development track that I'm heading up for Portland's Code Camp (you registered yet?). Here is the tentative lineup (it might still change, but I'm hoping that it won't too much).

- Introduction To Managed DirectX, David Weller

- Message-Oriented Game Development, Jason Olson

- Warplanner - Post Mortem of a Managed DirectX Game, Chris Goldfarb

- Implementing Creature AI, Chris Williams

- Behold My Bouncing Balls, Jason Mauer

- The Power of Scripting - Tribes RPG - Robert Under

- Introduction to Shaders - Andy "Zman" Dunn

It looks like a real fun line up for a Code Camp (especially the first one). I'm just hoping that it turns out to be a hit. SOOOOO, if you aren't coming (or you know people that aren't coming), tell them to get their tookis into gear and register already!!! (and if you're feeling especially well, go buy some of Rory's crap punk (I will too soon Rory, it's just too bad you don't have Size Lard Bucket))

Any chance of recording the presentations? Video is preferred, but audio is still worth listening to.

I'd really love to attend, but I cannot. :(

I'll see if there is anything we can do. I'm doubtful, but I'll try.

I never thought I'd say this, but I wish I lived closer to Portland so I could go to this. Sounds like it's going to be fantastic.

Let's hope so. I'm a little nervous since it's my first stab at putting together something for/with the community (the game development track that is). I'm also a little pessimistic since I know PAGDIG (the Portland Area Game Developer Interest Group, the local chapter of the IGDA) has basically died off.

But yeah, either way, a fun time should be had by all.

How far away are you JJ?

I don't know why I didn't find your blog sooner. This rocks! Looking forward to hearing you speak at the PDC.

I'm a dabbler myself in the game development arena. Just started working with Managed DirextX but for VB.NET.

Unfortunately I'm using all the deprecated DirectDraw stuff because I wanted to do a 2D game and I just naturally drifted to stuff that was more familiar to me.

Anyway, expect me to keep dropping by. (and next time I bump into you at an MSDN event, I'll make sure I stop and say Hi)

I wish I was speaking at the PDC (for that matter, I wish I was even going to PDC). This is just for the local Code Camp. And heck yes, come up and say hi to me anytime. I don't bite (at least not painfully) :).

LOL.

I meant the Portland Code Camp!! I guess I have PDC dreams on the brain (did you see the blog or code your way to the PDC contest on Channel 9, part of the reason I think I had the freudian slip)

I just remembered we met briefly at the Portland Nerd Dinner a while back too.

So yes, what I meant to say was I'm looking forward to seeing you present at the Portland Code Camp. (and who knows, maybe someday at the PDC...we can all dream right?)
