Well, I get to enjoy a week in a cabin out in the middle of the woods with my wife. This is going to be very relaxing. No internet, no work, no phone, no nothing. Of course, being the techie that I am (and since it is partly *my* vacation also), I can't help but bring some of my guilty pleasures as well (no, I'm not talking about my wife (COME ON! It's a joke! I keed, I keed (I'm sorry honey =P))).

So, what pleasures of mine am I taking that would cause all my coworkers to make fun of me (get your mind of the gutter perverts!!)? Well, for one, I'm taking my laptop to do some programming on this little RPG diddy I'm messing around with. Two (and the one that got most of the razzing from coworkers), I'm taking my LCD monitor and an adapter to hook my XBox up to it (yup, I'm taking my XBox).

Chilling out in a cabin in the middle of nowhere with nothing but myself, my wife, my laptop, my XBox, and a couple of books. Now THAT'S what I call a vacation. You can tease me all I want, but I'm a geek. And I wear the geek badge with honor. I'M A GEEK AND I LOVE IT. There, you happy?!?!?

Plus, since I won't have internet, I won't be able to check any comments to this point until I'm back which means there's absolutely NO WAY any of you can spoil this for me =P.

So, I'll see you all here in reality when I get back from my week long vacation FROM reality.

See Ya! Wouldn't Want To Be Ya! I'm out!

Sounds like a sweet vacation to me :) I'm actually a little jealous!

J,

For Becca's sake (although it's probably too late now) LEAVE THE FREAKIN X-BOX, LAPTOP, AND LCD MONITOR. I never EVER write in all caps, but you crossed a line.

I mean come on, what is your wife going to do while you sit behind your computer, giggling, while writing a class in c# that stores and manages the hit points and dexterity of a goblin???

Your spare time should be reserved for hikes, cooking, board games, camp fires, reading interesting *non-fiction* books, and of course, saying sweet nothings.

JEEEEEES.

Some people just don't understand Jason.

Sam, you're wrong. *YOUR* spare time should be reserved for hikes, cooking, camp fires, non-fiction books, etc. The key to a vacation is escaping from reality. In your reality, you're not fat. In my reality, I am. I want to do things where I don't have to do any thinking or even realize that reality even exists. For me, that is programming and games.

To each their own, I suppose.

I don't know, Jason and I go quite a ways back. My first memories of Jason are him telling dirty jokes to highschoolers at a jazz camp he was a councelor for, about 7 years ago.

I also understand that we are different too ;)

Jason...

"I want to do things where I don't have to do any thinking"

(and then)

"For me, that is programming and games."

You don't think when you code? As for the vacation/cabin plans, I guess I'm just more of the traditional type.

Well, I should say consciously think. For those of us that are incredibly smart, we don't have to think because are brain is so powerful to handle it for us. For those like you Sam, I am truly sympathetic. HAHA. Just kidding, there's NO WAY that I'm that conceded :p.

Crap, *our* brain. How ironic, I just defeated the whole purpose of the comment. haha.

I don't have to think when I program because I obtain all the code from my ass.

Touche! So, you truly are a code monkey.

I am. I think I'm only responding now to be responsible for one of the most commented on posts.

Well then. I suppose it *is* true. If you put enough monkeys in a room at computers, they will eventually find a way to start commenting on blogs =P.
