I fear that with this latest news from Apple, I may not be able to resist the temptation to buy a Mac anymore. I've felt for a while that Apple creates products with a certain "sexy-ness" factor to them. The only preventing factor to date for me when thinking about purchasing a Mac has been that all my development at work takes place on a solely Windows platform.

Well, it appears that this is no longer an issue. Oh great. I guess I should start saving up now for the money I'm going to blow :).

Well, I just installed the latest beta release of Monad to play around with it. The first time I opened the shell up, I got a kick out of this:

It seems as though numerous "hints" have been dropped as to the possibility of running Managed Apps on the XBox 360. Some of the latest news is that Tom Miller has actually moved over to the XNA and XBox team. On top of that, there was this latest post from David Weller. One of the quotes:

Speaking of XNA....we have some wicked cool stuff to announce and demonstrate at the GDC.  We even have a prototype of a CLR-based graphics app running on a 360 dev kit!  Drool-tastic :P

Now that's interesting! How much more information do we need before we can start "putting together the puzzle pieces" in order to form the full picture?

Feel free to "rumour-mill" away :).

I forgot to mention this when I came across it on Benjamin's blog. Rocket Commander now has the binary _and_ the source code released for it. You can find it here. Enjoy, my fellow hobbyist pseudo game developers :).

As I've mentioned in a previous article, I was annoyed with Visual Studio .NET 2002/2003 and the fact that you can't change the obj directory. I'm a stickler for keeping my src directory clean. My annoyance was due to the fact that you could _not_ change the directory the intermediate files for C# were saved to. Well, I'm pleased to announce that it appears it has now changed.

You can change the "BaseIntermediateOutputPath" value in your MSBuild file and that will change where the intermediate files are created. Thanks Microsoft :). I can now have the exact directory structure I want without it being dictated to me by Microsoft. It's about time :).

Thanks go to Day Dreamer who pointed this out to me as a comment to the earlier post linked to above.

As ZMan and Tom Miller have already said, Tray Games have announced that they are currently having a beta of their software. As you may or may not be aware of, their games leverage Managed DirectX so we definitely want to help them out (right?). If you create an account, feel free to add "jolson88" to your friends list :). Thanks!
